Current recommendation... 'jPod' by Douglas Coupland - http://www.jpod.info
It helps that I am a geek and work in an IT-heavy role. But it is still a brilliant novel. He still makes some of the best slightly quirky and wicked observations on life that I've ever read. If you enjoy it, hit his back catalogue... 'Microserfs' (an unrelated "prequel"of sorts), 'Generation X' and 'Hey Nostradamus' are recommended.
Yes, he called a novel 'Generation X'... but to be fair, he was one of the first to use the phrase, back at the start of the 90s, before it was adopted so enthusiastically by marketers, newspaper weekend lift-out magazines and "current affairs" shows - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Generation_X

Yeah, so I haven't figured out the hyperlink thing with the Blogger interface while typing posts. Or maybe it's just my computer.
